Description du poste proposé Duties and responsibilities

The Intern will work under the authority of the IIEP Director and the direct supervision of Mr Khalil Mahshi, Head, Technical Assistance and Sector Planning (TASP) Team and Mr Dorian Gay, Programme Specialist. Specifically, the Intern will support the work of the team in the following areas:

1. Assist in the preparation of folders containing training and reference materials related to the formulation, implementation and monitoring of education sector plans. This assignment will require searching for and assessing the suitability of materials and drafting succinct notes on these materials in English.

2. Update TASP webpage as requested.

3. Other duties contributing to the fulfilment of the work plan of TASP, at the request of the Team Head and Programme Specialist.


Duration of internship

The duration of the internship is of three months. The starting date is to be discussed but should preferably not be later than 1st February 2009.


Applications

This is an unpaid internship. IIEP is unable to assist with travel or accommodation costs.

IIEP will provide the intern with a Paris travel pass and lunch tickets for the IIEP Cafeteria for the duration of the internship.
Qualifications demandées 1. An advanced university degree (Masters or higher) in a relevant field (Education, International Relations or Political Science).

2. Knowledge of basic education planning and management concepts and terminology. Some knowledge of the international context of education development will be an asset.

3. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

4. Excellent knowledge of English and a good working knowledge of French; knowledge of Arabic, Chinese, Portuguese, Russian or Spanish would be an advantage

5. Excellent inter-personal and organizational skills
