Description du poste proposé PROJECT SUMMARY:
AED’s Global Education Center has a preeminent role in providing assistance to governments in improving the access, governance, and quality of education systems. This work involves wide range of actions from classroom methodologies to policy and systems reform. Much of the Center’s work affects the quality of learning, teacher training and management, and materials development. With a large project in Equatorial Guinea, extensive backstopping and office support for field-based activites is required.

POSITION SUMMARY:
EG Education intern will work under the supervision of the Senior Project Director, Program Officer and Operations Associate in a technical and administrative role supporting the Equatorial Guinea education project. The intern will also have the opportunity to observe and participate in a wide range of related project discussions, and assist with presentations, procurement, publications, translations, and other technical activities as required.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
• Work with the Project Director and Home Office team in supporting backstopping at AED Washington. This will entail:
• Support in overall field office requests for home office research, procurement and operational support.
• Maintain and update information database to facilitate selection of consultants, prospective staff, vendors and education services and to add new leads as they are identified.
• Assist with logistics and arrangements for staff and consultants as required.
• Assist team with visiting personnel and consultant support such as visa processing, medical and travel arrangements.

• Conduct research on teacher certification, active learning and policy reform activities seeking to provide value added support to field work.
• Help prepare presentations and other materials for project meetings and conferences.
• Prepare brief translations and summary reports as required.
• Other job related and center-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications demandées EDUCATION:
Bachelors in one of the following or related fields: Development Studies, Foreign Affairs, Foreign Languages, Geography, International Affairs, International Education, Latin American Affairs and Spanish required.

EXPERIENCE:
0 year(s) of relevant experience required
Specific Knowledge Requirements:
Prove knowledge and interest in international education development issues in Latin America and Africa. Overseas field experience desirable.

SKILLS:
•Spoken and written Spanish proficiency;
•Excellent computer skills including use of word processing, databases, and spreadsheets;
• Good analytical skills to process information to prepare charts, graphs and other visual aids.
• Good oral and written communication skills, and ability to work in a team environment;
• Ability to set priorities and meet the needs of the of the team.
