INEE is a global, open network of UN agencies, non-governmental organizations, practitioners, experts, donors and researchers working together to ensure the right to education in emergencies and post-crisis reconstruction. INEE promotes access and active participation in high quality education for all persons affected by emergencies and crises. UNESCO is a member of the Steering Group of INEE, along with IRC, UNICEF, UNHCR, Norwegian Refugee Council, CARE International, Christian Children’s Fund, the Save the Children Alliance and the World Bank. The INEE Secretariat consists of a Director (based at IRC in New York), a Coordinator for Minimum Standards (based at UNICEF in New York), a Coordinator for Network Services (based at UNHCR in Geneva), and a Coordinator for Education and Fragility (based at UNESCO in Paris).

The INEE Education and Fragility Intern will assist the Coordinator for Education and Fragility with activities related to facilitating the work of the INEE Working Group on Education and Fragility. Specific activities may include but are not limited to:
- Assisting with the WG Mapping Tool including inputting information received and updating the tool as needed
- Providing assistance with the Progressive Framework resource package including collating resources and downloading web resources to be loaded onto CD rom
- Assisting with preparations for the INEE Policy Roundtable to be held in October 2008 including drafting invitations and collecting RSVPs, assisting the Coordinator with logistical arrangements (meeting space, travel, etc.), etc.
- Assisting with preparation of inputs from the WG to the INEE Global Consultation to be held in March 2009
- Assisting with compilation of edits and feedback from Working Group members; editing and reviewing documents as needed
- Providing overall support to the INEE Coordinator for Education and Fragility including administrative activities as determined

The INEE Education and Fragility Intern will provide additional assistance to the INEE Secretariat and inputs to tasks for the broader INEE membership as needed.
Qualifications demandées
- Ongoing graduate studies in a relevant field (e.g. education, conflict resolution, international relations, etc.)
- Excellent organizational skills: the ability to track and follow-up on various efforts;
- Excellent analytical and writing skills: the ability to draft documents, reports, and syntheses
- Strong communication skills: excellent command of English-language, both spoken and written, proficiency in French; and Spanish and/or Portuguese language reading and writing skills preferred
- Good interpersonal skills: the ability to successfully interact with a variety of people
- Flexible work attitude: the ability to follow direction and effectively learn and work in an inter-agency environment as well as self-motivate
- Excellent Computer skills: MS Word and Excel
